Slot.it Group C
Qualifying
Qualifying got underway close to 11:30 with Jim Rose setting a blistering pace, almost a second faster than the rest of the field. Ian Douglass was in second, followed closely by Herman James . When qualifying had settled, there were two heats — an A and a B heat. Racers clustered around the computer while Dwight was working on the live feed, so there was great anticipation on the results.
B Heat
- Mario
- Steve Acero
- Ted Essy
- Richard Mathews
- Cliffo
Halfway through the race, Ted lead by just 2 over Cliffo, who was 1 lap up on Mario. The whole field being covered by only 6 laps.
By heat 6, cliff had passed Ted with 93, Ted 92 after a rough purple. Mario only two back from both of them. The field was still within 5 laps.
The final results saw Cliffo take the win extending his lead by almost 2 laps. Ted finished 1 lap above Mario, who was two above Steve Acero for third.
A Heat
The Group C A Heat was not even close. Jim Rose blew away the competition, running half a second faster than anyone else in the raceway. His well-polished Slot.it C1 tires came in clutch cutting through the glue and unlocking the speed needed down the straights. Herman James and Ian Douglass were close at the start, but Herman quickly pulled away and had a nice gap between 1st and 3rd. Ian Douglass rounded out the podium. Larry Stevens finished a healthy fourth, and Cliffo managed to steal 5th from the B heat, running a super clean, quiet race (aside from the play-by-play announcing).

F1 B Heat
After two heats, Mario led Steve Acero by less than a lap after trading the lead back and forth. Larry Stevens was in third three back, with Marty less than a lap trailing behind him. Heat three saw Mario struggle slightly with green lane, giving the lead back to Steve.
Mario regained his control of the lead after putting in some hammer laps, and finished heat four a full lap back up on Steve. Marty had creeped into third with some consistent laps, pushing Larry into 4th, feet behind.
Going into the last heat, Mario had extended his lead over Steve by 3, and Steve had extended the gap to third with a four lap lead over Marty. Larry had a tough orange putting him into fourth.
The race finished with Mario in first with 117, Steve in second with 112 and Marty third with 111.
F1 A Heat
The a heat was Jim rose, Ted Essy, Ian Douglass, Herman james, Franky, but Jim gave up his seat to allow Shaun Lee of “Shaunadega” infamy to race. The first heat started out with a good laugh when the race began without Ted, who was in the restroom. Once it was noticed, the race was paused and we waited for Ted to get back. Ted lost about a quarter lap which will come into play later.
The first heat saw Herman james take a quick lead, followed closely by Ian and Ted. In the second heat, Ian cranked open the waste gates and starting pulling away from Herman and Ted who were embroiled in their own battle on the same lap for much of the race. In the end, Herman beat Ted by a single track sector, which after some very gentlemanly debate, was given to Ted due to his first lap lost in RestroomGate.
The podium was Ian on top, with Ted and Herman second and third.
Great day of action at fast track hobbies and many thanks to those who came out!
